INYO is committed to your community through INYO Neighborhoods.

INYO Neighborhoods brings to life INYO Broadcast Holdings’ vision to meaningfully contribute to the well-being of our local communities. We are in communities crisscrossing the country from Hawaii to Connecticut and Washington to Florida. We encourage each of our employees to select a charity or non-profit organization that is important or has a special meaning to them to which they can volunteer their time and/or INYO will make a monetary donation. A few of the selected charities or non-profit organizations include:

KPXC Denver, Colorado: aurora police association

Engineer Tom Dall chose to support the Aurora Police Association’s Charitable Foundation by making a financial donation for its Shop with a Cop Event. This event pairs local disadvantaged school-aged children with a police officer to shop for back-to-school necessities. Each child will receive a new pair of shoes, several clothing items, and a backpack filled with school supplies. This event helps children prepare for the school year, it also allows the children to meet people they can trust and turn to in a time of need.

WPXV Norfolk, Virginia: ROC SOlid Foundation

Engineer Duncan Brown has elected a donation to the ROC Solid Foundation. The ROC Solid Foundation was founded by a childhood cancer survivor. The foundation provides “Ready Bags” for children enduring a hospital stay for cancer treatment. The bags include essential items, such as toiletries, a blanket, a tablet, etc., and are ready to go for unexpected or last minute hospital stays.

WIPX/WCLJ Indianapolis, Indiana: indiana flight girl’s basketball

Engineer Dexter Wilson is the Director of Indiana Flight South which is a travel basketball club supporting girls to further their education and to achieve their dream of playing college basketball. Dexter has coached six different teams that has helped 34 girls reach their goal. The donation covered entry fees to tournaments including one played at the gymnasium used in the 1986 film Hoosiers.

WPXX Memphis, tennessee: shelby farms park

Engineers Cliff Pickell and Glenn Gunnufsen chose to support Shelby Farms Park which is one of the country’s largest urban parks. The dog-friendly park is important to the well-being of the community as it provides many activities such as trails for walking, biking, running, and hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and paintball or laser tag, just to name a few. The donation helps maintain and improve the park for use by the community.

Corporate Office Salt Lake city, utah: Utah food bank

Grant Boren, Chief Financial Officer, and Michelle Brester, Director of HR & Legal Services, recently volunteered at the Utah Food Bank packaging personal hygiene products. INYO also made a monetary donation that will help provide food for meals delivered to local elementary schools and parks during the summer months.

WYPX Albany, New York: amsterdam little giants football program

Engineer Chris Iorio volunteers with the Amsterdam Little Giants which is a non-profit program that serves over 300 boys and girls from ages 5-12. They serve and are open to all area youth from various communities and is operated by community volunteers. The program consists of one of the communities largest NFL Flag Football Leagues, 4 travel Tackle Teams, Majorettes and Cheerleaders. In addition to football, they do host other events like dodgeball and fun filled field days for all youth. The most significant project that has been accomplished with help from INYO’s donation and that Chris was involved in developing was a “Sponsorship Fund” that allows children to participate regardless of financial obstacles. This provides that no child is denied the opportunity to participate in the program where he/she can continue to grow and develop skills while having fun with others. Contributions are also being used for safety sports equipment and providing a safe environment for all, as well as to re-lamp field lights for night events. Amsterdam Little Giants generously gifted INYO this football jersey for Chris to hang in our Albany office.

Engineer Ma’en Halawani (left) and Engineer Zhulieta Ibisheva (right) elected a monetary donation to support the Hawai’i Friends of Restorative Justice (HFRJ) organization which helps provide education and training to women incarcerated in Hawai’i’s prison system. Ma’en and Zhulieta recently attended an HFRJ event that recognized several individuals for their involvement in HFRJ’s activities and their own achievements.
