INYO Broadcast Holdings Completes Acquisition of 23 TV Stations

ION Affiliated TV Stations Acquired From The E.W. Scripps Company

January 7, 2021

SALT LAKE CITY INYO Broadcast Holdings has closed on its acquisition of 23 TV stations from the E.W. Scripps Company.  INYO’s stations will continue to operate as affiliates of Scripps’ ION Media network.  The transaction was originally announced on September 24, 2020. The INYO station group will operate in 21 markets, with 13 stations in the top 50 DMAs, and reach approximately 16% of all U.S. households.

“We are excited to own and operate a strong portfolio of ION affiliated TV stations,” said John Chachas, INYO’s CEO.  “We have assembled a seasoned executive team to operate the stations and look forward to continuing to provide relevant and compelling content to our local audiences.”

As part of the acquisition, INYO has appointed Grant Boren as Chief Financial Officer.  Boren previously worked for Deloitte, the global consulting firm, where he advised clients in the TMT industry on M&A, performance improvement, and growth strategy.  Mr. Boren received his B.S. from Brigham Young University and MBA from Harvard Business School.

Methuselah Advisors acted as the financial advisory to INYO Broadcast Holdings including arranging the capital for the transaction with Fifth Third Bancorp.
